History Of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti

Lets know about Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a highly educated man whose political, social, and spiritual opinions were well-known. In 1469, he was born in a Hemkund Sahib that is today part of Pakistan. Nankana Sahib, his birthplace, is one of the holiest locations for Sikhs, and every Sikh wants to visit the Nankana Sahib at least once in their life.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s finest attribute was that he taught that God is one and that you may contact him simply by remembering him in your heart. As a result, the Guru Granth Sahib, a compilation of poetry written in Gurmukhi and available to all readers, captures his teachings focused on purity, service, and goodwill.

Furthermore, during Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti, Sikhs take an oath to follow Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, which include mastering five emotions: desire, wrath, greed, attachment, and pride.

They are also reminded of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s three guiding principles of Sikhism, which they should strive to follow throughout their lives. Naam japna (always remembering God), kirat karna (always ready to serve others selflessly), and vand ke shakhana are the three guiding principles (sharing whatever you have with people).
